Fast forward to the present and you find that the music business has had its fair share of them too, from the British power trio Cream to those crazy Canucks of Rush. That's why it would be impossible for me to not mention the band that is reviving the word "supergroup" − Everit! |

| The New Jersey Department of Fish and Wildlife − Used to be called the Department of Fish, Game, and Wildlife, but apparently hunters don't count anymore. Interestingly, the URL ends with the letters fgw − so maybe web hunters still matter. By the way, if you've been negligent in child support payments, you will have to pay up before purchasing your licenses. They make everyone fill out a form, including the 16 year old girl on line in front of me when I got mine, stating that you owe no child support. I've got nothing against the concept, it was just funny watching the girl fill out that sheet. |

| I used to work on the radio when I was in college,
WTSR out of TCNJ to
be exact. I still like to see what Wayne Sciangola's talking about
during his traditional 6:00 Friday evening slot. Additionally, I like to listen to shortwave radio, and sometimes check in to what's new in the DXing scene. Back in 2002 I sent Radio Tunisia a letter requesting a QSL for a possible reception of their broadcast targeted for the Mediterranean. They were quite surprised that it was heard in eastern North America (although it's not implausible if the conditions are right). I sent a letter in French (translated through the Internet so you know it wasn't well done) and a dollar bill to sweeten the deal. After some six months I received a response. Here is the QSL card (front/back) and the letter I received in response. |

America − I've always thought that I
would never have become a teacher if I didn't have a background in
Scouting. Want to see a bad council patch design? Check out my council, the Northern New Jersey Council. At least they had the decency to change the purple to a dark blue. Still, I keep the old Passaic Valley Council patch on my uniform. Merit badges − The good news is you don't have to spend cash to buy the requirements book. The bad news is that you still need to write a 500 word essay to get Environmental Science. |
